Easy Healthy Mocha Latte Recipe: Vegan, Sugar-Free, Caffeine-Free

Healthy Mocha Latte

I can’t tell you how much I loooooove coffee, cream and sugar.

There’s nothing like drinking it on a chilly fall morning before the kids get up or sipping on it while opening Christmas presents in frozen December. Aaahhhhhh

It’s like fuzzy pajamas meets creme brûlée—perfection!

Here’s the only problem. It’s not healthy. Like, not even a little bit. Sigh…

Caffeine can blow out your adrenal glands. Yep, it happened to me. You can read all about that here.

Sugar is pretty much the root of all evil. It’ll sabotage your weight loss efforts.

And coffee creamer is chock-full of trans fats, sugar and artificial additives. BOO!

So what’s a busy mom to do?

Have no fear, my friend. I came up with this healthy mocha latte that’s caffeine-free, vegan and sugar-free. Wheeee!

Healthy Mocha Latte: Caffeine, Sugar and Dairy Free
A healthy alternative to the traditional mocha latte. It's caffeine, sugar and dairy free, to help with your weight loss goals and prevent adrenal burnout.
  1. 2 cups of brewed teecino (vanilla nut is my fave)
  2. 2 tablespoons coconut milk (from a can)
  3. 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  4. 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  5. 3 teaspoons unrefined coconut oil
  6. 3 teaspoons lakanto (natural sugar substitute that doesn't impact sugar levels)
  7. 1/4 teaspoon alcohol free vanilla flavoring
  1. Brew teecino based on package directions.
  2. Add chia seeds and let sit 3 minutes. (This allows them to expand 8 times their size keeping you full.)
  3. Add cocoa powder, coconut oil, vanilla and lakanto.
  4. Blend well in blender. (Be careful since the teecino is hot!)
  1. Teecino is an herbal coffee made of herbs, grains, fruits and nuts. It's not only caffeine free, but alkalizing unlike coffee which is acidic.

Looks delicious-I’m going to try it with coffee (I don’t have Teeccino)-do you think I could skip the sweetener or use honey or maple sugar instead (I also don’t have any Lakanto). I love coffee with coconut oil so I’m guessing the addition of cocoa and coconut milk will take it over the top. Have you ever added spices like cinnamon or cardamom? I bet that would be delicious too. Ymmm, can’t wait!

You can definitely skip the Lakanto and use an alternative healthy sweetener. The only reason you’d need Lakanto is if you can’t have sugar at all…like diabetes or candida. I think cinnamon or cardamom would be great! If you try it out, let me know how it tastes. xx ~ Mariah

      Hi Claire,

      Firstly…LOVE your name. It’s my daughter’s name <3.

I love using natural sweeteners as well but have to stay clear of them due to their high sugar content because of candida . Stevia and lakanto both come from plant sources that don't elevate blood sugar levels so that's what I have to work with for now. Someday hope to be back to using my beloved dates and raw honey 😉
